Project Overview

PFAS investigation and remediation works undertaken at RAAF Base Pearce as part of the Australian Department of Defence's broader national program to investigate and manage historical PFAS contamination across Defence sites throughout Australia.

Scope

• Bulk earthworks and contaminated material management.

• Reinforced concrete package, including formwork, reinforcement and concrete pour works.

• Geotextile membrane installation works.

• Civil enabling and remediation works.

• Environmental management and remediation activities associated with PFAS-contaminated land.

• Construction activities undertaken within a live operational Defence environment.

Contribution

As National Bid Manager, I led the bid process from opportunity assessment through to contract award, coordinating multidisciplinary inputs across engineering, estimating, procurement and operations teams. This included developing the tender strategy, engaging subcontractors, preparing methodologies and resourcing strategies, managing RFIs and tender clarifications, and delivering a compliant and competitive submission.

Key Achievements

• Successfully secured an approximately $8M Defence remediation project supporting the Department of Defence's broader PFAS remediation program.

• Further expanded the company's operations into Western Australia, strengthening its presence in a new geographic market.

• Leveraged local market knowledge and industry relationships to support the successful pursuit of works in a region where the company had limited prior civil infrastructure experience.

• Demonstrated capability in delivering complex environmental remediation and civil works within a live operational Defence environment.

• Further diversified the company's project portfolio across the Defence and environmental remediation sectors.
